Craving the protection and strength of Tiger Eye? Add this mesmerizing gemstone to your design toolbox and collections. Tiger Eye gemstones have been desired over many centuries for their unique striped bands of color similar to the stripes of tigers. Tiger Eye is considered a protective stone and traditionally carried as a talisman to ward off curses or ill wishes. It is associated with goal accomplishment, discernment, vitality, strength, solar plexus and root chakras.

Historically, Tiger Eye was worn or carried as carved stones, beads, amulets, talismans, or  jewelry by ancient Romans for protection and dominance in war. Other cultures called this stone ‘”Falcon’s Eye” or “Wolf’s Eye” or “Hyenis” (African hyena eyes) drawing on the astute and power of these  animals.

Tiger Eye (Tiger’s eye) is a variety of quartz (macrocrystalline) commonly stained by iron resulting in golden brown coloration. Unlike other quartz varieties, when polished this gemstone displays an  iridescent “cat’s-eye” effect (chatoyancy). You can find Tiger Eye in Australia, Brazil, Burman, China, India, Korea, Namibia, South Africa, Spain, and the United States.

Our Tiger Eye Collection is natural stone with natural colors including brown, blue, golden yellow-brown, red-brown, gold-blue with bands of color. The bands of color can appear silky and lustrous. With a MOHS hardness of 7 it is a highly versatile and distinctive gemstone.

Discover our extensive Tiger Eye Beads collection to inspire your designs as round, faceted or rondelle beads, and unique shapes in sizes 2 to 16mm. Consider how pleased your customers will be with Tiger Eye as one or multiple colors alone or in combination with other gemstones  including black onyx, shungite, red coral, citrine, selenite, or turquoise.
