African Bloodstone

African Bloodstone is a gemstone composed primarily of chalcedony. It ranges in color from milky opaque to deep green, with flecks or intrusions of red hematite. The red hematite intrusions within the stone have the appearance of splotches of blood, hence the name. There are historical references to bloodstone having magical properties, and it was believed the stone could make the wearer invisible.
