Are you wearing your Moonstones? Moonstones have been considered sacred in many cultures evoking good luck. They are highly sought after for jewelry for royalty and between lovers.

The mysterious glowing shimmer of Moonstone has fascinated people for centuries linked with the magical properties of the moon and moonlight. Moonstone is a type of feldspar gemstones with alternating layers of orthoclase and albite. Our Moonstone Gemstone Collection colors include cream, white, yellow, peach-cream, and orange. Moonstones can have a milky appearance with some degree of translucence (or adularescence) causing them to shimmer appear “moon-like,” hence the Hindu myth that moonstones are made up of solidified moonbeams. With a MOHS hardness of 6 to 6.5 they are a mesmerizing consideration for your jewelry and artwork designs.

Moonstones are considered an alternative birthstone for the month of June and are associated with “new beginnings,” fertility, protection, sleep, and a good focus for meditation.  They are found in Australia, Austria, Finland, India, Madagascar, Mexico, Norway, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Tanzania, New Mexico, and Virginia.

All our Moonstone Gemstones are natural stone with natural colors as smooth round, faceted, or roundelle beads or unique shapes (free-form, square, puff coin, pillow, chips) in sizes 2mm to 10mm depending on cut. Consider them in combination with garnet, red crazy lace agate, amazonite, amethyst, or kyanite.
